Red Clover Ranch Valley
Breath is more than a tool for relaxation—it’s a gateway to expansion. Join Kate Sheehy for Breathe Into Belonging retreat. The weekend will include daily breath sessions, conversations on the physiology and psychology of breath, group connection and somatic self-care practices. Chicago-based singer and musician Amalea Tshilds will offer a special guest workshop in vocalization and choral expression (no experience necessary). There will also be spacious time for guests to explore their own creative processes, integrating the deep shifts opened through breath.
By shifting our habitual breath patterns, we can access new states of awareness, awaken creativity, and step into embodied presence, and from there experience a deep sense of belonging to ourselves and each other.
Over this weekend workshop, we’ll combine guided connective breathwork, gentle movement, writing prompts, sound/voice exploration, and playful creative exercises. These practices help us loosen old patterns, meet discomfort with curiosity, and open space for insight, pleasure, and embodied transformation.
You can expect a mix of solo reflection, group connection, nourishing meals, restorative rest, and moments of joyful experimentation. And new this summer, a biodynamic natural pond to lounge near, plunge into and float upon under stars.
Set in the Driftless Region of Wisconsin—with its rolling hills, deep valleys, and spring-fed rivers—Red Clover Ranch offers a landscape of quiet magic and resilience. It’s an ideal setting for slowing down, reconnecting with yourself, and letting new possibilities emerge.
Join us for a weekend of breath, creativity, and play—an invitation to step into a more expansive, vibrant version of yourself.

Kate’s creative roots trace back to two decades in Chicago, where she collaborated with puppeteers, musicians, movers, and makers. In 2006, she and artist Dan Paz co-founded the Random House series—a site-specific, interdisciplinary project that transformed an old Victorian home into a living gallery of performance, video, and music.
Since relocating to California in 2016, Kate has been deepening her work at the intersection of nervous system regulation, embodied wellness, and creative capacity. She trained in Breath Awareness with Tracey Stover in the Pacific Northwest and now integrates this powerful modality into her bodywork, workshops, and private sessions. Unlike traditional relaxation breathwork, this practice invites stuck patterns—physical, emotional, or mental—to rise and clear, allowing for a more fully embodied and generative breath.
Amalea Tshilds is a musician, songwriter, and co-owner of Lula Cafe, an award-winning farm-to-table restaurant in Chicago’s Logan Square. Known for her ethereal vocals and introspective songwriting, she has immersed herself in the city’s indie music scene, blending country, folk, and experimental influences in her work. She is also deeply moved by the communal power of singing—whether performing solo, with choirs, or in bands like Girls of The Golden West and the Pauline Hollers. For Amalea, singing is a visceral, spiritual experience that creates deep connections and fosters a sense of community and belonging.
Alongside her partner, Chef Jason Hammel, she helped make Lula Cafe a force in Chicago’s dining culture, emphasizing seasonal ingredients, creative cuisine, and a welcoming community spirit. After taking a step back to focus on raising her family, she remains deeply connected to the restaurant through her latest endeavor, LSOIREE at the new creative salon, “LOULOU by LULA,” where she curates a vibrant evening of food, conversation, and performance, bringing together the voices of artists for a unique experience.. There, she curates L. Soirée, an evening series that brings together live music, food, and conversation, creating a space where artistry and hospitality intersect in surprising and deeply personal ways.
Balancing her dual passions for music and hospitality, Tshilds continues to be a quiet yet influential voice in both fields, shaping spaces that celebrate creativity, connection, and shared experience.
