The Slow Exhale -- A Women's Retreat With Tracey Mortensen, Angela Blackwood, and Angie Balsimo-Stumpf

  • Red Clover Ranch 44727 County Rd X Soldiers Grove, WI 54655 (map)

The Slow Exhale retreat offers a serene escape for women seeking rejuvenation and peace amidst the natural beauty of The Driftless. Participants will immerse themselves in a tranquil environment where the autumnal landscape mirrors the retreat's theme of release and renewal. Surrounded by woods and open fields, guests will engage in gentle movement and stillness practices, encouraging them to let go of burdens and embrace a lighter, more authentic version of themselves. This three-night journey invites you to unplug from the daily grind, providing a space to breathe deeply, quiet the mind, and reconnect with your true self. By the end of the retreat, you'll find yourself revitalized and more in tune with who you are, ready to return to daily life with a sense of peace and clarity. Come as you are and leave with a newfound sense of self.

What you'll experience

Three practices, woven together to help you release and restore;

Yoga
Gentle, accessible movement to reconnect you with your body and quiet a busy mind. No experience needed and nothing to push through. Just breath, movement, and permission to slow down. You'll leave feeling looser, calmer, and more at home in yourself.

Sound Healing
Using singing bowls and soothing tones, a sound bath washes over you as you rest. The vibrations settle your nervous system and drop you into deep relaxation, the kind that's hard to reach in everyday life. Many describe it as the most peaceful they've felt in years.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Tapping
A simple, gentle practice of tapping on acupressure points while focusing on what you're ready to release. It helps calm stress, quiet anxious thoughts, and let go of what you've been carrying. Easy to learn, surprisingly powerful, and something you can take home with you.

Guests, please note that this is a hosted retreat, and reservations must be made through the Retreat Leader Host. Tracey Mortensen (E-RYT 500) has been guiding students toward deeper practice for over two decades, ever since yoga pulled her through one of the most stressful chapters of her own life. As the founder of Inspiring Actions Yoga, with focused training in restorative and Yin yoga and years of experience leading retreats, she brings a gift for gentle, grounding practice and a rare balance of sthira and sukha, she'll help you find new depth in body and mind while keeping the space light-hearted, accepting, and fully supportive. On retreat, that means holding a place where you can finally set everything down, exhale slowly, and come home to yourself.

Angela Blackwood is Inspiring Actions' go-to teacher for all things restorative, pairing deeply relaxing restorative yoga with certified sound healing to help you slow down and truly drop in. She trained with Judith Hanson Lasater, the foremost expert in restorative yoga in the United States and has a gift for meeting your body exactly where it is on any given day. On retreat, expect her sessions to be the ones no one ever wants to end, the kind of restoration that stays with you long after the sound fades.

Angie Balsimo-Stumpf is a Certified Clinical EFT Practitioner who brings the practice of tapping; a gentle, powerful tool for releasing the emotional blocks and old stress patterns that keep us stuck in fight-or-flight. Drawing on more than six years as a health coach and her own hard-won healing journey, she helps you treat yourself as a whole person: body, mind, and the beliefs you've been carrying since childhood. On retreat, expect her sessions to help you set down what you've been holding onto and reconnect with a lighter, calmer version of yourself.
