Dispatch from the Ranch: Summer Full Bloom + New Podcast Episodes + New Retreat Announcement!

Hello Friends,

Summer is in full bloom here at the Ranch, and everything feels wonderfully lush. There's a saying about planting, specifically perennials: “the first year they sleep, the second year they creep, the third year they leap.” We're happily in our third season, and it feels like everything we've planted is beginning to leap.

It's fascinating how we share in nature’s rhythms. Revisiting a place and cultivating a connection with it—much like the perennials— is a kindred relationship that grows more bountiful and robust with each return. Part of the philosophy behind Red Clover is to be "a place where community, creativity, and nature weave together to form lasting connections. A place guests return to, forming a relationship with the land, seasons, and people.” I saw the magic of this firsthand at my family’s dude ranch resort, where guests returned for generations.

We're so delighted that many of our retreat leaders are returning for their second or third season and we are welcoming back guests; and we’re just as delighted to welcome new retreat leaders and guests to our valley.

Speaking of returns, we have an exciting new retreat announcement! Marty McConnell, who leads the sold-out WONDER-ING Retreat, is offering an October retreat focused on the tarot. She is gifted at the art and takes a poetic approach as a practitioner and educator (read on to learn more). Also check out one of our latest “Dispatches From the Ranch Podcast,” where I chatted with Marty and Lindsay Dorr-Niro, the “Wonder-ing Retreat” leaders, about their creative practices, poetry, and more.

We also have a new podcast episode up on our feed with Gwendolyn Ripp of Intentionally Outdoors, the retreat leader of Human Nature, a nature connection immersion retreat Aug 28th-31st. In my conversation, I learned more about the roots (pun intended!) of Forest Bathing and why it's such a potent form of meditation and self exploration. She has a few spots left if you would like to join her retreat.
